Porta Nigra

The Gate of Nigra, commonly known as the Black Gate, is a famous ancient relic in the ancient Roman period and a symbol of the city of Trier. The Gate of Nigra is a well-preserved Roman-era city gate north of the Alps. It was designated a World Heritage Site in 1986 along with other Roman ruins and cathedrals in Trier.
